Executive Team Biographies
Victor Manzon
Let me begin by sharing a few things about myself. After more than four and a half decades as a Licensed Masters Social Worker I closed my private counseling practice in the community in 2015. During those 45 years, I have worked with a variety of client populations and conditions, including those with chronic mental health issues (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, multiple personalities etc.), abused children, delinquent adolescents, attention deficit disorders in adults and of course those with Substance Use Disorders. I am currently a part-time adjunct faculty member in the School of Interdisciplinary Health Programs at Western Michigan University.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree at Monteith Honors College in Detroit and my Masters from Wayne State University. I also completed graduate studies at the Merrill-Palmer Institute and post- graduate studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where I studied the integration of psychology with theology.
When not working, I like to spend time with Barbara, my wife of 42 years, and our three adult children. Barbara also had a career as a Social Worker working with young children in the early elementary grades. We enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking, kayaking and cross-country camping trips. I am an avid skier, hockey fan and enjoy taking pictures. Our current pet project (pun intended) is our 16-week-old Golden Retriever puppy, Gracie Joy. Our intention is to raise and train Gracie to be a therapy dog. Along with Gracie’s unbounding, unconditional love, Barbara, and I feel called to minister to those who are hurting, particularly children of trauma or illness.
